We are looking for an energetic and hardworking Assistant Management Accountant to join our Service Charge Accounts Team. Your primary task will be to support the Finance Manager dealing with all aspects of service charge accounting. The right candidate with have the aptitude to learn new business applications to carry out your secondary task to offer IT Support, to keep internal IT procedures up to date and drive progressacross our business.

We are a progressive and fast-growing family run Property Management Agency based in South Derbyshire with over 15,000 properties in our portfolio and have the pleasure of working with a variety of residential developers across the country.

Key activities of the Assistant ManagementAccountant role will include:

Service Charge Accounts

Prepare and manage service charge accounts

Prepare accounts for external examination

Prepare financial position statements for meetings with resident directors

Prepare quarterly financial position service charge accounts

Assist in the preparation of the service charge year-end accounts

Administration of reserves (sinking funds) and depreciation

Liaise with external Accountants

Liaise with customers, leaseholders and colleagues in other departments

IT Support
  • Aptitude to learn new software packages quickly, Microsoft operating systems and office packages which are used daily
  • Keep internal IT procedures up to date and drive efficiencies
  • Implement, test, deploy and assist with cascading knowledge of updates of MRI Qube to departments within the company
  • Become the lead person between the company and our software provider ensuring maximization of MRI Qube
  • Develop and produce reports for operational management
  • Provide user support for business applications, resolving user enquiries and issues.
  • Ensure documentation and business processes are updated to support business functions
  • Tests releases, updates and enhancements to existing applications
  • Recommend improvements to business applications & processes

Our ideal candidate
  • You will be part qualified AATwith a minimum of 3 years experience in management accounting
  • You will have experience of supporting the preparation of management accounts including journals, creating finance report commentary and balance sheet reconciliation
  • Strong analytical skills
  • You will have strong attention to detail and an ability to communicate financial information
  • You will have knowledge of MRI Qube or similar Service Charge accounting package
