Role Overview and OrganisationFlexible Working - Growing Organisation - Excellent SalaryNigel Wright are working in partnership with a growing organisation company based near Seaham to recruit an Accounts Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a great business reporting into the Finance Director. This position will join the Finance team while they are continuing to grow and will have brilliant opportunities to progress and develop within this position while providing excellent exposure as part of a friendly team.The RoleThe main duties and responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant will be:
- Managing the Purchase ledger, ensuring all invoices and transactions are accurately posted, paperwork filed, Supplier statements reconciled, and payment runs prepared for approval.
- Manging the Sales ledger, to include raising applications for payment, accurate posting of invoices and receipts, filing CIS returns and ensuring customers pay on time.
- Preparation of accounts to Trial Balance, preparation of VAT returns, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Overhead cost recording, reporting and control
- Accounting for credit card transactions and staff expenses
- Supporting and deputising for the Finance Director as required.
- Previous experience in a Sales / Purchase ledger or Accounts Assistant role and ambition to progress into a more senior accounting role
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, experience of Sage 50 Accounts an advantage
- Salary of up to £25,000 dependant on previous experience
