Responsibilities of the Assistant Financial Accountant include:

* Payroll review and posting of the monthly payroll journals

* Provision of variance analysis

* Provision of pension checks

* Calculation and posting of accruals

* Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations

* Preparation of statutory financial statements

* Assistance with year-end audit

* Preparation and posting of prepayments

* Maintaining the Group's Fixed Asset Registers

* Posting bank payments

* Preparing daily/weekly cash reporting to Group

* Preparing intercompany submissions and reconciliation

* Producing VAT returns and checking before submission to HMRC

* Preparation of cashflow forecasts

* Undertaking ad-hoc projects when required

Key competencies required of the Assistant Financial Accountant:

* Studying towards AAT or CIMA

* Analytical with attention to detail

* Good problem-solving skills
