We have a new opportunity available for an experienced Senior Customs Data Processor, based just outside of Maldon, offering a salary up to £35'000, depending on your experience. You will need a minimum of one years' recent experience working with Customs documentation to achieve their starting salary of £26'000, to achieve the top end of £35'000 you would need to have significant experience working with international Customs documentation with working knowledge of most countries Customs paperwork.

In addition, as the Senior Customs Data Processor, they are happy to consider a hybrid working pattern, one you pass your three probation period and subject to a home working risk assessment. Home working would consist of up to two days working from your home between Tuesday and Thursday, giving you a great work / life balance with reduced traveling time and costs. They support career progression, you will be working towards becoming the Team Leaders back up and then working towards a Team Leader vacancy yourself for further progression.

You will be working for a company who add value to freight services, they deliver state of the art, fully digitalised Customs and International Trade processes. Their objective is to identify and deliver major cost savings and performance improvements whilst protecting their clients from the risk of non-compliance penalties. In this role you will be responsible for processing client data including shipping information, following and applying Customs and Excise duties and procedures as appropriate. You will also learn how to operate Duty Management Computer Systems and assist with day to day duty management accounts, ensuring they are operated according to their authorisation and specific SOP. Additional duties include assisting with Customs warehouse removals, and ensuring they are processed accordingly, within a compliant time frame and ensuring stock records are kept up to date. This role will also involve general office administration such as filing, record keeping and having ongoing liaison with HMRC, clients and suppliers. Other duties include learning basic Customs Import formalities and procedures using CFSP (Customs Freight Simplified Procedures). You will be multi-tasking your work, using a variety of systems in a fast paced environment. A keen eye to detail is essential and someone who takes pride in their work is a must. Other duties include Client Account Management, ensuring everything runs smoothly for your clients and fully supporting them and ensuring that they are being invoiced correctly. Every transaction has the potential to make huge savings for their clients and that is what they build their reputation on. Full training and support will be provided.

The working hours during your three month probation period are Monday to Friday from 9am until 5pm, with one late night every other week working 11am until 7pm or 12.30pm to 8.30pm, to support their international clients. Once you pass your three month probation period you will be required to work one weekend in four, working 10am-1pm on Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sunday with the following Monday off as time in lieu. Weekend working is being reviewed, with the view to being reduced once the team grows in size.

To be considered for this opportunity you will require...

Customs experience.

Access to your own vehicle, due to their location, unless you are local.

Computer literate and numerate.

Excellent attention to detail with strong organisation skills.

To have a minimum of 5 GCSEs grade C or above, including English and Mathematics, or equivalent
