Our client is a highly successful distributor and manufacturer of household consumer goods, currently turning over in excess of £250m per annum. The company has grown significantly over the past 10 years, opening additional sites and increasing their staff headcount, as well as becoming a highly-regarded employer of choice in the locality.


As part of their expansion, the Finance Director is looking to recruit an experienced Finance Business Partner to work in their Redditch team and to support them with month end processes and all associated duties as below.


This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant who has experience of working in a similar FMCG organisation, but is looking for a step up into a new challenge.


Main

Responsibilities:


  • Supporting the month-end process, including; processing journals, investigating variances and recommending corrective actions as required.
  • Preparing the monthly control account reconciliations.
  • Supporting preparation of reports and presentations in advance of board meetings.
  • Assisting with the VAT return process.
  • Managing the company car fleet and associated costs.
  • Updating daily cash flow and highlighting variations.
  • Working closely with the commercial finance team to understand supplier funding.
  • Promoting process improvement across the business, identifying inefficiencies and suggesting improvements.
  • Data analysis, reporting and presentation requests.
  • Able to use Excel to analyse, manipulate and present data effectively.


Key Skills & Experience:


  • Qualified (or part-qualified/active studying ) Accountant in ACCA,CIMA or ACA.
  • Experienced working within an FMCG business (manufacturing, logistics, wholesale) in a busy accounting function.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management and organisational skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate level MS Office skills, in particular MS Excel.
  • Able to work as part of a busy team, in an office-based role. Based in Banbury but with some travel to other company sites.
  • UK driving license.


Additional Information:

Working Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. (This role will be based in Redditch 3 days a week and in Banbury 2 days a week, all travel expenses will be covered.)
