Our client, a major distributor, is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their friendly team. You will be responsible for chasing outstanding debt to the company and will play a pivotal role in the cash-flow of the organisation ensuring credit given to customers is monitored and controlled effectively.

Duties and

responsibilities:

• Chasing debt by telephone, letter and email, to reduce debt and DSO
• Investigating and resolving queries relating to non-payment of debts
• Liaison with field reps regarding client accounts
• Allocate monies received to invoices and raise any inconsistencies with the customer
• Deal with management and operational requests on credit requests - orders received
• Referring accounts to the legal team and debt collection agencies
• Monitoring customer credit limits and analysing on-line credit rating agency information

Skills and experience required:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Credit Controller
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential
• Self-motivated and resilient with effective communication skills (written and verbal)
• Confident, proactive and target driven individual
• Numerate with a good eye for detail
• Strong negotiation skills
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment and support other areas when needed

Hours:

• Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Salary and benefits:

• £25,000
• Pension - statutory
• 25 days annual leave + bank holidays

• There may be the option for some remote / working from home but in the short term this should be considered as an office-based role
