About the Company/Employer
Our client is a rapidly expanding global E&P Operator headquartered in Aberdeen and London. They are now recruiting for an experienced Tax Analyst to join their team in Aberdeen on a permanent staff basis.
Job purpose
The Tax Analysts are responsible for providing tax support across the department covering tax accounting, tax compliance and tax advisory as required.
Key responsibilities
- Preparation of tax numbers to be recorded in business financial books and forecasts.
- Preparation of selected Corporation Tax returns and computations including companies subject to the industry specific UK upstream Ring Fence tax regime.
- Preparation of selected Petroleum Revenue Tax (PRT) returns.
- Providing financial and tax analysis to the business as required.
- Researching legislative changes and selected tax technical matters as required.
- Any other reasonable duty as per instruction by your manager.
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
- Experience in a relevant corporate or accountancy firm environment.
- Understanding of complex accounting.
- A professional taxation or accounting qualification with a track record of relevant experience, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT or ATT.
- Upstream Corporation Tax and PRT experience (desired but not essential).
- Strong analytical ability.
- Attention to detail and a desire for precision.
- Highly numerate.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of UK Upstream tax software desirable, together with knowledge of SAP (preferable) and strong Excel skills.
