Credit Controller & Finance Support
Full time (35 hrs/wk), permanent
Based central Horizons (Reading, Berkshire) with up to 2 days per week working from home
Salary £24,500 FTE pa plus benefits

University College of Estate Management (UCEM) is a long-standing and leading provider of supported online education. Operating from the UK and Hong Kong we have a global reach, and at any one time over 3,500 students are studying online with us. UCEM passed its first ever inspection by Ofsted with flying colours after earning an overall rating of 'Good' in November 2021.
This is a great opportunity for a Credit Controller to build on their existing experience and knowledge in a busy and supportive Finance team, supporting with all aspects of student finance. This will include monitoring and controlling external student finance sources, processing and allocating student payments, keeping student information and finance systems up to date and dealing with all finance related student and colleague enquiries.
Your key responsibilities will centre around:
- Processing rejected student instalment payments, ensuring students are notified.
- Undertaking routine credit control processes for overdue debt.
- Providing back-up for accounts payable operation.
- Monitoring and carry out timely administration for external funding.
- Ensuring finance and student system records are correctly maintained Receiving, checking, acknowledging, and collating application forms.
- Handling student withdrawals and assessing their eligibility for refunds.
- Resolving issues and queries raised by internal teams.
To deliver these responsibilities we need to combine your excellent IT skills, attention to detail and strong communication skills. Previous experience in a similar fast-paced accounts or finance role and a minimum of an AAT level 2 qualification are essential.
