Think Accountancy and Finance are seeking a Qualified Financial Accountant with a background in Audit for a company based in Watford.

This position will play a key role in the statutory audit process and taxation compliance. The successful candidate will liaise with the external auditors and tax advisiors for both internal and external deadlines for the Group.

Key Position responsibilities include:

  • Assist in producing and maintaining financial reporting reconciliations
  • Maintaining the fixed assets registers and depreciation journal
  • Ensure all balances are fully reconciled each month.
  • Treasury, cash and covenant reporting
  • Ensuring financial records are kept up to date across the Group companies
  • Build strong and trusting relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Statutory audits completed in line with our internal and external timelines, and all corporate tax and VAT compliance completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain up to date financial records.
  • Provide support on the preparation of statutory accounts
  • Ensure financial records are kept up to date across the Group companies.
  • Liaise with the wider finance team to understand Group processes and take responsibility for specific processes as required.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, effectively present ideas and turn them into practical actions. Lead initiatives on continuous improvement of financial reporting and support wider group goals and initiatives.
  • Adhoc financial projects.

Person Specification

  • Attention to detail, with good analytical and numerical skills.
  • Team player and ability to work collaboratively with the wider team to meet periodic deadlines
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Technical accounting knowedge.
  • A self-starter who is able to prioritise and manage deadlines.
  • Ability to bring a commercial outlook to the role such that deliverables add value and insight to the business.

Proven experience/education level

Experience of operating in a similar role.

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
