Fully Remote Opportunity**

Human Recruitment Group are partnering with a high growth business as they look to appoint an Assistant Accountant.

This role would suit an AAT or ACCA candidate who has good working knowledge of indirect tax and is keen to explore a career in this field.

Reporting into the Management Accountant your key responsibilities include:

Preparation and filing of VAT returns for relevant countries (currently five returns).
Preparation of intra community VAT for relevant countries (currently two countries).
Preparation and filing of Intrastat returns and EC Sales lists in those countries.
Handling of queries regarding VAT/Intrastat from government organisations or external accountants.
Involvement in VAT enquiries/inspections.
Monthly reconciliations of VAT returns to the General Ledger.
Review and or processing of expenses to see if VAT can be reclaimed and to ensure associates are adhering to the policy.
Reclaim VAT on expenses in France, & UK for corporate credit card and non-card expenses including issuing of expense receipt guidance to each country to aid VAT recovery.
Monitoring changes in VAT rates, regulations and thresholds in appropriate countries.
Maintenance of VAT elements of finance system (e.g. rates, report set ups).
Daily invoicing which includes reviewing any VAT issues with the invoicing.

In addition to the above you will periodically cover for the Management Accountant tasks when they are out of the office, these could include posting of payrolls at month end or helping reconcile intercompany transfer pricing from the UK sales company to other company entities and assisting with Accounts Receivable.
