The Company
My client is a very large NZ business that has continued to go from strength to strength acquiring businesses across its value chain that provides a comprehensive solution in the industrial space to its customers. The business has operations all over the country. The business has significant operations across the North Island with the need for a management accountant to join the team in Whakatane to take full ownership of two complete business units of circa $50M Turnover.
The Role
The role of Management Accountant will report to the Financial Controller and be responsible for:
Your Profile
We are looking for a CA qualified Accountant or equivalent who has experience in industries in the construction/contract management space. You will need to have experience with IFRS 15 and revenue recognition principles as well as managing WIP & inventory. You will need to have strong excel capability and any exposure to Pronto will be a distinct advantage. Additionally, you must be able to demonstrate an ability to get into the business and work with operational people.
You will be required to be in Gisborne for a minimum of 2-3 days a month. All travel expenses are covered.

The Role

- Providing business partnering and support to operational performance monitoring and decision making
- Review monthly WIP and liaise with the business on this position
- Manage the inventory system and liaise to ensure any price variation is managed
- Conduct gross margin and variance analysis and ensure accuracy
- Monthly fixed asset management including leased assets
- Complete monthly forecasts and review costs to complete on projects
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations
- Review payroll data
- Assist with the management reporting for Board purposes
- Assist with the year end audit requirements from a management accounting perspective
- Complete monthly P&L forecasts and half year forecasts
- Complete monthly cashflow forecasts
- Co-ordinate the annual budgeting process
- Other ad hoc duties as required.
