We are offering an exciting opportunity to join the RHS, in a permanent role, on a finance apprenticeship, in the beautiful grounds of RHS Garden Wisley.
The training programme will consist of three rotations to ensure experience is gained across the whole of finance, three potential rotations are outlined below, however these may be tailored depending on the individual.
- Based in the finance business partner team, you would be supporting the team by taking responsibility for areas of the P&L, issuing reports to and dealing with queries from cost centre owners, supporting on the budgeting and forecasting process.
- Based in the financial control team and you would cover areas such as balance sheet reconciliations, VAT, Gift Aid, bank reconciliations and credit control.
- Based in the systems and reporting team you would be responsible for tasks ranging from understanding how the systems across the Society feed into finance to ensure the processes lead to accurate financial information to understanding the needs of the business to deliver reporting that aids with decision making.
Over the course of the apprenticeship you will gradually take on more responsibility, encounter more complex work and have the opportunity to learn about a number of areas across the Society.
Training Provided:
- We will fully support CIMA or ACCA study paths.
- The apprenticeship programme will be provided by an external study provider who will cover both the professional knowledge and also a range of other workplace skills to support your personal and professional development.
Skills & Experience Required:
- You should have, or be about to graduate with a degree ideally in Accounting and Finance, or with modules that covered some accounting principles.
- The ideal candidate will have completed a placement year in accounting or had some accounting work experience.
- Be able to evidence that you are a team player with excellent communication skills
- Highly numerate and literate with a good writing style and be highly IT literate
- Be able to take the initiative, but at the same time seek guidance whenever needed
- Have good attention to detail and a drive to improve processes to make them efficient and effective.
