Currently, a vacancy has emerged in our Investment Department for the post of Assistant Manager / Senior Executive - Investment Back Office - Head Office

The Person

  • Strong quantitative, problem-solving, analytical and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to express complex concepts in clear business terms.
  • Ability to:
    • take initiatives without supervision, including the judgment to propose timely calls
    • use data, analyze, synthesize and report on the same work under pressure and be a good team player
    • maintain integrity and confidentiality and understand the Business Strategy and priorities 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee and verify all investment transactions and settlements on time
  • Monitor and verify all investment-related fund-wise cash flows and communicate them to Investment Front Office daily
  • Perform securities reconciliation within the specified time
  • Lodge and withdraw all securities with the custodian bank on time
  • Ensure optimization of cash utilization of the funds
  • Supervision of internal Investment reporting including valuations
  • Attend to relevant regulatory reporting and audit reports for treasury-related functions timely and accurately and communicate to the respective parties
  • Contribute towards maintenance and development of the SAP Financial Asset Management System
  • Liaise with banks and financial institutions, regulatory bodies and other relevant external parties
  • Assist in the Asset and Liability Management (ALM) function within the firm's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework

Qualifications & Experience

  • Passed Operational Level of CIMA - Chartered Institute of Management Accountants - UK
  • Possessing a Diploma in Treasury & Risk Management conducted by the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in Treasury Back Office, preferably within the financial services industry. Additional one year of relevant experience in a supervisory role is required for the Assistant Manager grade.
