General Manager - Johannesburg
R800 000k - R960 000k per annum

My client who is a leader in the travel and tourism industry is looking to hire a seasoned general manager. The successful incumbent will be responsible for improving the overall business functions, developing strategic plans, and meeting business goals.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Screening potential franchisee by analysing investment requirements, franchisee's potential, and financials, franchisee experience and vision
  • Negotiating terms and conditions of each franchisee agreement
  • Helping in preparing budget and expense management activities
  • Recognizing and finding potential markets to launch new franchisee and advise CEO/Board of new opportunities
  • Travelling locally and regionally with possible overseas travel when required
  • Encouraging current market position and growing market share
  • Coming up with business plans to support the company's financial objectives
  • Describing long-term strategic goals and developing clear plans to implement them
  • Supplying solutions to issues (e.g., profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors etc.)
  • Devising and managing a financially viable technology solutions to assist the Consolidator pillar
  • Planning a strategy for the division and implement a solution to attract new revenue for the business
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business unit.
  • Drafting and apply working protocols and processes


QUALIFICATION, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • Must come from a travel and tourism background!!!
  • 5 years' experience in senior management and sales environment with franchisees
  • Knowledge of existing and planned markets and market-related initiatives from the perspectives of the competition
  • Strategic planning skills
  • Knowledge of tools, techniques, and practices for analysing the purpose and scope of a producer, a product, a process, or project in terms of cost and benefits.
  • Knowledge of the organisation's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Knowledge of major functional processes and associated operating requirements.
  • Knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups.
