Job Description
This role is a fantastic opportunity for either an accountant 'qualified' by experience or a part qualified accountant having completed AAT, or equivalent.
The role will involve various aspects of financial accounting:
* Preparation of month end preliminary journals.
* Preparation of monthly management information.
* Reconciliation of key Balance Sheet accounts including leased assets, payroll, pension and PAYE.
* Assisting with gathering data for an IFRS operating lease project.
* Supporting electronic filing of important financial accounting documents.
* Processing fixed assets invoices to the register, allocating depreciation over the appropriate asset life to each profit centre.
* Submission of monthly, quarterly and annual National Statistics.
* Support with ad hoc investigation and project tasks.
* The ideal candidate will be proactive and enthusiastic in supporting the whole finance team. This will include helping to identify improvements and efficiencies in all finance functions.
Qualifications
* Proficient in using IT, including Microsoft Office and accounts software.
* Excel is a key management information tool for Great Bear, a sound knowledge of spreadsheet writing and data analysis is essential.
* Experienced in accounts preparation including journals, accruals, prepayments, accrued income, deferred income and depreciation.
