About the role:

We are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join our Designworks entity business unit which is a leading wholesaler of innovative apparel, footwear, accessories and sporting equipment to major retailers in both Australia and New Zealand. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will provide financial and accounting support, including providing accurate, timely and detailed analysis of financial performance and risk management.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and processing standing journals, accruals, prepayments and various other items into the AP21 ERP system in accordance with month-end timetable
• Preparing reconciliations for all relevant general ledger accounts on a monthly basis and follow up any outstanding issues in a timely manner
• Reviewing financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, etc) and review GL transactions to ensure items have been coded correctly
• Reviewing and assisting with the finalisation of the monthly Cash-flow forecasts for the following two months
• Providing supporting ledger extracts and calculations for inclusion in monthly forecasts/ annual budget preparation
• Reviewing purchase price variance accounts and ensure stock is correctly valued in accordance with accounting standards
• Providing assistance and documents at the interim and final year end audit to external auditors

About You:
You are capable, diligent, and flexible. You have an impressive attention to detail and your time management skills ensure that the multiple facets of your role receive timely attention.

• You will be completing or have completed a CA or CPA qualification
• 2-4 years' experience fast paced finance roles
• You can work both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to use integrated financial/ERP systems effectively
• Ability to manage and prioritise own work activities to meet finance team deadlines
