Accounts Payable Clerk, Birmingham, £24,000

Hays are delighted to be working with a private sector organisation based in Birmingham to recruit for a Purchase Ledger Clerk on a permanent basis. This role has become available due to a promotion within the current team.

This role will involve:

  • Assisting with purchase invoice processing
  • Supplier statement reconciliation
  • Nominal code analysis- matching invoices to relevant information
  • Resolving supplier/purchase queries
  • Daily bank reconciliations
  • Producing payment runs for review
  • Day to day assistance to the Financial Controller and Management Accountant as and when required

In order to be successful in this role you will have used computerised accounting software in your previous roles, and be comfortable using Excel. The successful candidate with have strong written and interpersonal communication skills and be able to articulate financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Ideally you will be studying or hold an AAT qualification, and have worked within an organisation that deals with multi-currency transactions. Knowledge of European VAT would also be advantageous.

In return you will get a salary of up to £24,000, 20 days of annual leave which increases to 25 after your first year with the organisation, private dental and medical services after your first 12 months and an excellent working environment with the potential for development.
