Description:

About the role:

Reporting to the Tools Category Manager, this role will see you supporting 2 Category Managers across the Tools and Kitchens portfolio, along with our stores and suppliers, to help continually grow the categories within PlaceMakers.

Your core function will be focused on providing product and promotional support for our stores, delivering key initiatives across specific category lines and executing team strategies. You will own and maintain all product information and make careful use of pricing analysis and market trends to determine the best product range for our stores.

Daily you will be responsible for -
  • Supporting category strategy, ranging and pricing
  • Providing recommendations, reporting and data/competitor analysis to Category Managers
  • Assisting with catalogue content/creation
  • Providing support to the branch network regarding any queries
  • Assisting the wider team in sourcing the right products whilst optimising our purchasing power through effective negotiation skills

Skills and Experience:

You will be a great communicator, enjoy building a good rapport with our customers and have solid influencing skills to engage with key suppliers strategically to add value to our customers. Alongside this you can also demonstrate the following:
  • Previous experience in either Assistant Category Management, a Marketing background or working in the Building Products/ Construction Industry
  • A 'can do, Innovative attitude with a solutions approach
  • Strong analytical and administration skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Systems savvy and highly proficient with MS Office, in particular, Excel
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with the ability to juggle many balls and manage ever-changing priorities
  • Play an influential role to drive brands and products and improve customer engagement

This role is working at our Head Office in Penrose. This is a 1 Year Fixed-Term Opportunity till September 2023, covering Parental Leave. Hours include Monday to Friday, 40 hours.
