The Sytner Group has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join their Head Office accounts team. A fantastic opportunity for any aspiring trainee accountant to progress into a challenging new role.

As an Assistant Accountant, you will support the day to day functionality of the Head Office accounts department and contribute towards the monthly preparation of the Head Office management accounts. The role will involve the following tasks and key areas of work:

- production of Divisional management accounts including P&L accounts production, forecasting and budgeting
- month-end balance sheet reconciliations
- VB finance commission reconciliations
- purchase ledger and sales ledger transaction processing
- cost analysis and reporting
- assist the Group Accountant in other ad-hoc duties where required

You will need to demonstrate the following skills and arears of experience:

- an understanding of transactional level accounting (purchase/sales ledger)
- a basic understanding of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping
- a solid grasp of Microsoft Excel
- the ability to prioritise workload and manage deadlines effectively
- excellent communication skills
