APS4 Payroll Officer with previous government experience. Minimum of 30 hours per week, open to part-time and full-time structure. Ability to work remotely.

Description

Working under limited direction and in collaboration with the Payroll Liaison Manager, Payroll Officers:
  • work collaboratively with our colleagues from our outsourced payroll provider
  • help coordinate and check the gross pay variance (when required)
  • provide advice on relevant policies and terms and conditions of employment
  • undertake a range of payroll duties, including, but not limited to:
    • responding to payroll queries
    • onboarding new starters and contractors
    • conducting salary progression reviews
    • managing leave liability with Aurion
    • superannuation
    • maternity leave
    • administering probation
    • system access management
    • processing separations
    • processing promotions and higher duties
    • processing supervisor changes
    • conducting reconciliations.

Profile

1. Sound experience and understanding of the APS employment framework, terms and conditions of employment.

2. Expert knowledge of a Payroll Solution (Aurion desirale)

3. Demonstrated ability tp apply best practice payroll systems, processes and controls as well as detail and resolve complex sensitive payroll issues.
