Wood is currently recruiting for a General Ledger Accountant based in our Melbourne office on a 6 month contract.
The GL Accountant supports the Corporate Management team in ensuring Balance Sheet Reconciliations and will be tasked to bring all Australian entity BS reconciliations back to current and up to the Wood standard. This will include identifying and aging transactions making up the balances, allowing the team to make informed decisions around the treatment and correction of balances, as appropriate.

The GL Accountant supports the Corporate Management team in ensuring Balance Sheet Reconciliations and will be tasked to bring all Australian entity BS reconciliations back to current and up to the Wood standard. Responsibilities
- Month end close, including analytical review, in a timely and effective manner for Oracle trial balances
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations for prepaids, unbilled, etc, determining action plans to resolve reconciling differences, clearing of conversion balances, etc.
- Researching / analysing inconsistencies in treatment and areas of improvement to determine and implement best practices across the organizations
- Assisting in audit requests with internal and external audit teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Master's degree and/or CPA is a plus
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- Minimum 4 years Accounting/Finance experience
- Strong understanding of IFRS and GAAP
- Experience with a major ERP system is a plus
