The Role
We are seeking applications from suitably experienced candidates to fill two separate roles of Management Accountant and Assistant Management Accountant. Both of these positions sit within the Finance and Contracts Division and will provide management accountant services to Divisional Business Units within the PTA.
The Management Accountant responsibilities include: coordinating, preparing and monitoring operating and capital budgets for the respective Divisions; prepares, analyses and presents management reports and KPI's; prepares and codes payments to creditors, invoicing of external works and maintenance of payments on corporate credit cards; and prepares journals and end of period adjustments.

The Assistant Management Accountant is responsible for assisting the Management Accountant in providing financial and management accounting services to designated branches and division; liaising with Divisions on budget issues; assists in providing detailed budge analysis, reporting and reconciliation of Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss items.
To be considered for the Assistant Management Accountant role, you must have:

- A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Business.
- Considerable management accounting experience (including budgeting) in an accrual based environment, including well developed use of corporate accounting systems and Excel spreadsheets.
- Proven ability to evaluate and design management information to address financial and operational performance.
- Well developed analytical skills, including a proven ability to resolve management accounting issues within time, financial and corporate constraints.
The Assistant Management Accountant is responsible for assisting the Management Accountant in providing financial and management accounting services to designated branches and division; liaising with Divisions on budget issues; assists in providing detailed budge analysis, reporting and reconciliation of Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss items.
To be considered for the Assistant Management Accountant role, you must have:
- Demonstrated experience in accounting and financial management systems in an accrual-based operational environment.
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting.
- Demonstrated conceptual, problems solving and analytical skills with a proven ability to analyse financial information and data from an operational perspective.
