Your new company
Our client is has an extremely well known and well respected name in the local area and they have exciting plans for their Spalding site. To support the business as it goes through this renaissance, we're looking for an experienced accounts assistant working towards a professional qualification that is interested in working towards a role as a business partner within the next 2 to 3 years.

Your new role

• Month & Year end accounting including assisting with management accounts prep, posting of accruals and prepayments and reconciling balance sheet items.
• Complete control of purchase ledger - from processing invoices, raising purchase orders, matching to PO to invoices, resolving supplier queries, weekly & monthly payment runs
• Payroll - downloading from time & attendance system to feed into the weekly payroll
• Fixed assets - monthly fixed asset register reconciliation and preparing all depreciation journals
• Cash book - posting to cashbook, daily reconciliations to bank statement, investigation of unknown transactions

You'll be reporting to the Finance Manager as well as having a dotted line to the site general manager so you'll be called upon to help with spot reports and information to assist with the efficient running of the business. As time progresses, with the planned expansion of the operations and new business wins, there will be opportunity to develop the commercial support you give both the GM and the Finance Manager through your month end reporting and understanding of the unique challenges the business will need to navigate.

What you'll need to succeed
Our client is adamant that they are only willing to consider applications from those studying CIMA or ACCA or someone who has completed their AAT (we may in exceptional circumstances consider someone studying AAT as long as work experience is at a senior enough level).

You'll need to demonstrate an ability to manage conflicting deadlines as well as changing priorities and the emotional intelligence to be able to work autonomously and present new ideas with energy and a sharp commercial outlook.
