A large, privately owned Business is looking for a Corporate Accountant to join their high performing finance team managing their own division
The Client
This large, privately owned business manages and develops assets and products that are industry-leading in their fields. They are currently seeking a talented Corporate and Business Unit Accountant to join their National finance team. This is a great opportunity if you are making your first move from a Chartered Auditing firm to gain some industry experience in a leading organisation in its field, with an executive team that is high performing, very driven and constantly looking for growth opportunities.

The Role
Due to their continued growth, a newly created Business Unit/Corporate Accountant role has arisen. Reporting to Group Financial Controller your primary responsibilities will cover month-end, half-year, and year-end statutory financial reporting and more specifically:
  • Month-end closing process inclusive of reconciliations, journals etc
  • Assisting in year-end financial accounting and statement preparation
  • Preparation of the monthly pack for presentation to the board inclusive of Power BI reports
  • Providing value-added commentary of the financial performance of the business unit on reports
  • Assist in the preparation of annual corporate budgets and monitor expenditure
  • Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
  • Assisting in the external audit process
  • Performing any additional tasks as directed which are within your skill, qualification, and competence level
About You
  • CA/CPA/CIMA qualified with 3 - 4 years of experience. We are open to people from both a commercial background and also those looking for their first step out of a Big 4 or Mid Tier firm
  • Showing the ability to self-identify, investigate and resolve any accounting issues, under time pressure
  • Continuous improvement of procedures and processes to improve efficiency
  • Solid knowledge of the Australian Accounting Standards and IFRS
  • Demonstrable strong communication skills and relationship skills
  • Motivated to progress with a dynamic organisation amongst a high performing finance team.
