Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
We are building a new Audit, Risk & Evaluation team at MPI and we're looking for a Senior Advisor who can come in and hit the ground running, be innovative, advisory focused and can add value to the organisation.
You will be conducting internal audits from end to end (including planning, field work and reporting) following up open issues and strengthening our audit approach and methodologies. You will be a great communicator and capable of building strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
We are a centralised function so you will become a subject matter expert across a wide range of MPI programmes and be able to pick up concepts easily and make valuable contributions to management. On any given day you could be working on a diverse range of internal audits spanning across MPI's operations, Biosecurity, Fisheries, Agriculture, Forestry or Food Safety.
In this role you will support the team by providing high quality audit reports, advising management on control effectiveness, recommend change initiatives, and identify emerging risks.
Occasional travel may be required to conduct audits across MPI's NZ operational sites.
Mōu - About You
Our ideal candidate will have:
* A minimum of 5 years' internal audit experience
* Preferred qualifications include CPA/CA and/or Certified Internal Auditors (IIA)
* In-depth knowledge and experience in providing audit and assurance services including: planning, scoping, fieldwork, and reporting of core business and operational activities
* Strong track record in building relationships and stakeholder communications
* Presentation and report writing skills
* Data analytics skills are desirable
