We are a large print manufacturing company based in South West Wales who are looking to recruit a Group Cost Accountant.

We have an international presence and an exciting customer base and are enjoying a period of strong growth aided by forward thinking investments.

This appointment is a newly created role and will be an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to take an autonomous approach to building an internal costing system, which will be pivotal in developing and linking the estimating, costing and internal MI reporting systems.

Your new role

The Cost Accountant will report directly to the Group Financial Director who can provide insight, review and challenge across the groups multi-site operations.

Responsible for building a suitable costing system which can transform the current MI reporting & analysis of the company, the Cost Accountant will spend time with stakeholders from all areas of the business to get an understanding of the machinery and its processes, and then use their own skills and experience to build a costing system suitable for costing, and internal MI reporting necessary to present to the board of directors.

As a Cost Accountant you will be responsible for providing accurate and relevant weekly and monthly MI to support decisions which impact sales and operations and will be responsible for handling the complexities of multiple projects. You will support the provision of management accounting and decision support information, challenging commercial managers on sales, cost management and margins.

This role will be responsible for high volume job / product analysis and providing detailed variance analysis.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a fully or part qualified accountant (CCAB or CIMA) with experience in a Manufacturing environment. Experience specifically in the print and packaging industry would be advantageous but  not essential.

You will have proven experience in a financial planning and analysis environment and will have the ability to work with a range of different internal stakeholders (including senior management / finance / sales / IT / production).

Previous experience in a product and cost management focused environment is essential. This is a commercial role where building relationships is a key part of the business.
