Butler Rose is working alongside our top FTSE250 Facilities Management organisation based in Chorley in their search for an experienced Contract Accountant to join their Finance Team. This a Permanent role and will pay upto £35k-£40k to the successful candidate. Roles and Responsibilities -

  • Production and review of monthly management accounts ensuring adherence to strict deadlines
  • Ensuring sales invoicing for designated contracts are produced in a timely manner
  • Ensuring accruals and other journal entries are accurate each month and reconciled to the Balance Sheet
  • Completion of Balance Sheet reconciliations and resolution of reconciling items
  • Variance analysis including investigation and reporting of variances to budget within a tight deadline for use in senior management meetings
  • Completion of quarterly forecasts
  • Completion of annual budgets in conjunction with the operational teams and presentation of plans including key variances, risks and opportunities to Finance Manager and Account Director
  • Finance point of contract for a portfolio of contracts, providing finance support and advice to the operational teams
  • To provide weekly updates on overdue debt and attend debt review calls
  • To work with the operational team to maximise working capital through ensuring accrued income is minimised, invoice queries are resolved and payment is received
  • Complete sample checks on internal and external payment proposals, making recommendation to the Finance Manager about invoices to be paid
  • Leading contract finance reviews with operational teams
  • Completion of Cash Flow forecasting and variance narrative
  • Assisting the Finance Manager and Head of Finance with Adhoc tasks as require

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills along with the ability to interpret and present financial information in a clear way to non financial colleagues
  • Strong academics including professional qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
  • Highly motivated self starter, ability to work to tight deadlines and be driven to succeed
  • Enthusiastic team player with sound commercial awareness
  • Advanced excel skills, with the ability to analyse data quickly and accurately
  • Experience of using SAP is desirable
  • Experience of accounting for contracts / projects preferred
