Junior Accountant | Swindon SN3 with occasional travel to other sites |Office based | Monday to Friday 38 hours per week (includes paid breaks)| up to £30,000 DOE

Our client is a specialist RISQS approved rope access contractor, with a wealth of experience in the industry. Based in Swindon, Wiltshire, the expert teams work nationwide, providing rope access and rail services.

This is a newly created position as the business has grown rapidly over the years, you will be a team player who can implement SMART ways of operating in a stand-alone position reporting to the Financial Director.

Are you the right person for the job?

If you have/are the following, then the answer is yes!

  • Accounting degree or part qualified CIMA/ ACCA or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3 years of Accountant experience
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office including advanced Excel (Pivot tables)
  • Advanced working knowledge and extensive experience of Sage 50 Accounts
  • Methodical and able to manage time and meet deadlines
  • Highly organised, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proactive, strategic, and a multitasker
  • Integrity to handle confidential information
  • Fluent English, both written and verbal

What will your role as a Junior Accountant look like?

  • Preparation of weekly/monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and associated financial reports
  • Preparation of Budgets and Forecasting
  • Reconciliation of intercompany accounts
  • Identify performance trends and variances. Investigate, recommend and implement effective solutions for directors
  • Daily Finance administration
  • CIS and sub-contractors payments/ invoicing
  • Sage 50 Accounts data entry and processing.
  • Implement processes to streamline and improve financial reporting and functionality
  • Day-to-day management of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
  • Analysing investment and cost reduction information
  • Preparing information for statutory audits and interim reviews
  • Liaising with external Accountants
  • Additional administration duties, analysis, reporting, and projects as required
