As part of a small, but dynamic Compensation and Benefits team, this role will assist in recording and analyzing stock compensation expense for employees of the company along with completing self-billing/invoices for UnitedHealth Group's various benefits provided to employees.

If you are located in Minnetonka, MN, you will have the flexibility to telecommute*, as well as work in the office as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports
• Reconcile, analyze and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month end close
• Prepare journal entries and reviews accounting classifications, in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles, including stock compensation and bonus accruals
• Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits
• Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation
• Analyze and prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and statements of financial position
• Assist with or lead the month end quarterly end close process
• Performs work in a self-directed manner and works with less structured, more complex issues
• Serve as a SME to business segments
• Prepares Benefit Plan Statements
• Experience identifying solutions to non-standard requests and problems
• Accounting for various fringe benefits

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• 1+ years of professional accounting experience
• 1+ years of understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statements
• 1+ years of experience applied with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Experience with Hyperion Essbase or SmartView
