Summary:

The Accountant performs key general accounting activities in the areas of closing and G/L reconciliation and maintenance as a member of the general accounting team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Monthly Closing:

• Perform closing activities: Accrual entries, recurring entries, adjusting entries, elimination entries, corporate cost center allocations, and corporate interest.
• Perform review of machine margins and other income statement items.
• Assist with review and preparation on quarterly financial report.
• Perform other month-end closing activities as assigned.

General Ledger Maintenance:

• Reconcile assigned G/L accounts on timely basis. Document how accounts are being used. Determine if adjusting journal entries are needed.
• Review bank reconciliations and make adjusting journal entries as needed.
• Review and adjust accruals and recurring entries as appropriate.

Other:

• Provide assistance to the AR and, AP teams. Work with teams to ensure G/L accounts are being reconciled on a timely basis. Determine if adjusting entries are needed.
• Assist with Audit. Prepare audit work papers.
• Assist with tax activities.
• Assist with External reporting activities.
• Assist in implementation of new processes and in solving system-related problems.
• Provide support and assistance to all other accounting groups and financial employees to enhance overall company performance.

Education & Experience:

• Entry Level Accounting work experience
• 4 Year Accounting Degree
• Some experience is preferred of 1-3 years but would consider directly out of college.

Systems: Advanced Excel (VLookups & Pivtot Tables), SAP would be a plus
