Our client is seeking to engage a Financial Accountant - Reporting on a Permanent, Full Time position.

About the role

This is a hands-on role working in a growing team, reporting directly to the Finance Manager.
As part of the Finance team you will be focused in financial statements preparation and supporting the Finance Manager during audit time.

Job description

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Update statutory financial statements including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements, on a monthly basis, liaising and coordinating with other team members when needed.
  • Assist the finance manager with the preparation of fair value derivatives valuation, complying with internal policies and guidelines and in communication with the parent company and external auditors
  • Assess and implement new accounting standards in coordination with group internal policies
  • Assist the finance manager during audits (statutory)
  • Assist with business monthly reporting as needed, collaborating with the rest of the team
  • Undertake regular reconciliations to ensure the balances agree with the system while explaining sources of discrepancies
  • Support development and operations teams with regard to capitalisation of costs in the assets in construction (capex)
  • Update and maintain the fixed assets register, ensuring the depreciation is correctly calculated. Liaise with parent company when needed. Coordinate with team members to ensure the differences between tax and accounting are explained and considered for tax purposes.
  • Support accounts payable and receivable activities, as needed.
  • Ensure all reporting covenants under existing Power Purchase Agreements are addressed in a timely manner, coordinating with different departments as and when needed. Assist with queries received.
  • Participate with month-end closing activities such as general ledger entries accruals, intercompany entries, and reconciliations, liaising and coordinating with other team members as needed
  • Performing ad-hoc duties when required.


What is expected of you
  • Bachelor degree in accounting
  • 3+ years experience in accounting
  • Sound knowledge of accounting, financial and business principles and procedures
  • Advanced/Proficient in MS Excel including complex formulas and pivot tables
  • Self-motivated and ability to work autonomously
  • Demonstrate an ability to be adaptable and fast paced, and respond quickly to changing needs in a demanding environment
  • Well-developed forward planning & analytical skills, with the ability to set priorities, plan workload, meet deadlines to achieve organisational objectives
  • Sound communication skills, both written and verbal
  • SAP Experience preferred
