We are working with a large New Zealand cloud storage and file hosting services company based in Auckland CBD looking for an experienced Accountant, to be part of their finance & accounting team. The persons will be responsible for the techniques of accounting and/or auditing with a general knowledge of foreign exchange transactions, analytical skills and great attention to detail.

About the role:

This role will focus on the fixed asset register, which is 75% of their balance sheet. Complete assignments within the time budget provided. The key responsibilities of this role include:

• Manage and maintain the fixed asset register.
• Recording and reconciliation of expenses submitted by employees.
• Review and post general journals as needed.
• Completion of periodic balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assisting with internal and external audits and statistical reporting.
• Assisting the finance team with ad hoc request.

About you:

You will be building partnerships with all key stakeholders within the organisation, partners, and external agencies. This role is for someone who is an Accountant qualified, worked in a commercial /technical accounting firm, confident and great communicator. You must be open to new ideas, looks for & implements continuous improvement programme, takes initiative and has a can-do attitude and likes to be part of a team & socialise as they celebrate success with fun. The role reports to the company Chief Financial Officer.

To be considered for this role, you need to possess key accountabilities including:

• Exceptional communication skills in English language - both written and spoken.
• Experience in the similar role with qualification in accounting.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting and finance principles & procedures.
• Experience with foreign exchange transactions.
• Knowledge of Sage Accounting software.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical; and attention to detail.
• Ability to understand business issues, meeting deadlines and demonstrate a business focus.
