ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

Perm position

Based in Luton

Salary £24 000

JOB PURPOSE

Assisting the Management Accountant and Finance Director to ensure timely and accurate processing of the customer receipts, purchase invoices and supplier payments.

**Experience working in the Construction Industry is a MUST! Please don't apply if you do not have Construction Industry experience!**

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Setting up new suppliers

  • Promptly and accurately registering & processing purchase invoices/credit notes

  • Working closely with the procurement and Plant department to resolve any queries or discrepancies in a timely manner

  • Reconciling supplier's statements on a regular basis, resolve any queries to ensure all invoices are posted within the corresponding accounting period

  • Ensure that remittances are sent to suppliers promptly.

  • Reviewing Aged Creditors report monthly for any unallocated cash and negative balances.

  • Processing Credit Card & Expense claims through the purchase ledger system ensuring only valid business-related expenses are being claimed

  • Assist with the purchase ledger month end closure in line with the company's procedures

  • Maintain a professional relationship throughout all means of communication with the suppliers

  • Assist the Finance Team with various reconciliation or projects

    EXPERIENCE: Experience in accounts payable within a high volume, pressurised environment

    KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of ERP accounting software

    SKILLS: High numeracy skills, organised, analytical skills
