Mō te Tukurau Aotearoa - About NZ Post

NZ Post has been a vital link for New Zealanders for over 170 years, and in the future, we will continue to be a trusted Kiwi company that helps customers succeed and helps New Zealand grow. We're currently on a journey of change designed to support our transformation strategy to deliver customer driven technology solutions, with greater speed to market and keeping pace with emerging technology.

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role:

NZ Post Data & Technology is charged with redefining NZ Post as a relevant, agile and customer led business, using technologies and innovation to deliver services that go beyond incremental improvement.

The needs of our customers are ever-changing and happening faster every day - our team needs to be one step ahead of these changes and act quickly, knowing exactly how the network is performing and able to deliver for our customers. We are growing our international and domestic parcels and logistics businesses by building partnerships and ensuring we're highly focused on what our customers want and need.

In a nutshell, we're looking for a Release Manager who is experienced in large environments to:
  • Shape what release management looks like for NZ Post, the Data & Technology team and our vendors.
  • Be a key resource for release management in the delivery of projects.
  • Take a keen interest in and be influential in engineering the future as we develop a more mature CI/CD environment.
  • Deliver release management best practice.

Mōu - About you

We're looking for someone who has enterprise release management experience in a large complex environment where there is a regular cadence of significant releases with potentially significant impact.

You'll be someone who enjoys the opportunity to be self-managing to achieve your deliverables and who likes to bring their thinking and expertise to the table to shape the future. Your excellent people management skills will be highly valued in this role.

Our core business hours are Monday to Friday; however, flexibility is required recognising the 24/7 nature of our organisation. There will be the need to work outside business hours and weekends on a regular basis to deploy releases, and on odd occasions to be on-call to facilitate an emergency release.

This role can be based in either Auckland (Highbrook), Wellington (NZ Post House) or Christchurch (Airport).

What's in it for me?

We offer a competitive salary package which includes KiwiSaver contribution and medical care for you and your family. Important too is a great work whanau - you'll have strong team of highly capable peers alongside you, and a leader who will empower you at the helm. You are encouraged to be autonomous in how you deliver so you can enjoy a work & life balance tailored for you.

There are career development opportunities across the NZ Post group - we actively source talent from within.

Interested? Come join the Whanau!

Apply today, or to find out the full requirements of the role please download the JD available via the NZ Post website. If you require additional information, contact Rachel Wilson (Talent Acquisition Specialist) on Rachel.Wilson@nzpost.co.nz

All external applicants will be required to provide proof of their eligibility to work in New Zealand. Appointees will be subject to a security check and may be required to undertake a credit check and/or drug test.

There's something really special about being part of the team here at NZ Post - Tukurau Aotearoa, who we are and what we stand for is grounded in our values.

We are proud to be Rainbow Tick certified and recognise the diversity and uniqueness of our workforce and reaffirm our commitment to create a safe and inclusive environment for everyone.
