Job Details

Reporting to the UK Finance Director you will act as a part of the UK Senior Management team. You will lead and manage the UK business entities financial accounting, reporting, control activities and accounts payable team.

Description

Under the guidance support and direction of the Finance Director or more senior member of staff, the UK Financial Controller will:

People Management

  • Lead, coach and develop the UK Finance team to ensure they have the skills and motivation to perform their roles. Responsiblity for manangment accounts team (5 members) and AP function (4 members)

Financial Reporting and Close Process

  • Be responsible for all finance and accounting processes and reporting requirements to strict deadlines
  • Responsiblity for delivery of all balance sheet reconcilations (final sign off)
  • Responsiblity for fully intergorgated p&l to finance director for review
  • Oversee compliance with the established finance processes and controls related to internal/ external reporting
  • Ensure compliance with the applicable GAAP
  • Oversee team interaction with annual audit(s) ensuring timely provision of information
  • Understand VAT reporting requirements including Standard, partial exemption and reverse charge VAT mechanisms
  • Understanding of transfer pricing for intercompany sales
  • Support/ deliver Group Finance Operations/ Corporate Governance requirements

Other Responsibilties:

  • Work closely with FP&A team to improve quality of budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Work with UK payroll to promptly validate and approve monthly payrolls
  • Ad hoc financial analysis to support business decision-making
  • Weekly and monthly cash flow reporting and forecasting
  • Deputise for the Finance Director when necessary
  • Business partnering with various senior stakeholders around the business
  • Responsible for development of best in class processes and controls, working closing with the businesses ICT function

Profile

The successful candidate for this exciting Financial Controller role will be a fully qualified accountants ACA / ACCA / CIMA finance leader with prior team management & process improvement experience & 5 + years post qualification experience.

  • Experience of implementing accounting control procedures and reporting to strict deadlines within a group environment
  • Local GAAP and IFRS knowledge
  • UK Tax, VAT and Legal requirements
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills
  • Demonstrates initiative and the ability to work effectively on their own as well as part of a team
  • Excellent analytical skills - Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to drive results whilst working to tight deadlines
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable with a fast-paced, high-performance environment
  • Financial leader/ team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to articulate ideas clearly in oral and written communication
  • Able to quickly build rapport and effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, able to lead and develop a successful cohesive finance team

Job Offer

This Financial Controller role based near Oldham with flexible working can pay a generous salary of £70,000 - £85,000 + benefits.
