Chemours is seeking an Assistant Controller - ESG Accounting to join our Finance team who will be focused on the emerging area of Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) reporting. This newly created position will report to the Controller - Environmental, Social and Governance Accounting and Reporting and will be responsible for helping ensure Chemours is positioned for and responsive to the growing expectations among our stakeholders and regulators for accurate and transparent reporting on areas including climate change, diversity equity and inclusion, as well as our progress towards our overall 2030 Corporate Responsibility Commitments (CRC). This role will also support the accounting for environmental remediation activities performed by our Central Remediation Group.
This role requires someone who is highly organized, has an understanding of internal controls and can apply the principles of internal control to non-financial data used in ESG/CRC reporting, as well as environmental remediation accounting activities. The successful candidate will also work well in teams and able to communicate clearly with leaders and team members at all levels across the Company.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assisting in the implementation of internal controls to ensure the completeness and accuracy of non-financial data collected for ESG reporting purposes
- Assist in conducting meetings, developing documentation to support the internal controls for non-financial data collected for ESG reporting
- Provide process recommendations to internal controls (SOX) over environmental remediation accounting activities are designed and operating effectively, including continuous improvement and automation initiatives
- Partner with CRG team to evaluating environmental remediation accounting and accruals, and assist in preparation of quarterly account reconciliation and fluctuation analysis
- Prepare reconciliation, rollforward analyses and other schedules supporting the environmental liability on a quarterly basis
- Coordinate with the SEC reporting group to prepare financial and non-financial information included in the Form 10-K, Form 10-Q and Proxy disclosures (e.g., Risk Factors, Climate Change, Human Capital, environmental remediation liabilities, etc.)
- Work with internal auditors to periodically audit the completeness and accuracy of ESG information and the processes by which information is collected, maintained, and verified.
- Ensures the internal controls (SOX) over environmental remediation accounting activities are designed and operating effectively, including continuous improvement and automation initiatives
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA required
- Thorough understanding of US GAAP and SEC Reporting Standards
- Minimum -4-6 years of combined experience with Big 4 and industry financial reporting roles
- Strong oral and written skills
- Strong project management skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines
- Works well in teams with an ability to interact at all levels of the Company
