Description:

The Judge Group is currently seeking a Cost Account for a company located in the Little Rock AR area. The Cost Accountant is responsible for assessing business expenses and preparing optimized budget plans. Primary responsibilities include reviewing financial records, researching the market rate for key business costs and adjusting the company ledger to accurately reflect balance sheets.

Responsibilities:

• Collecting and analyzing data about a company's operational costs
• Setting standard costs of manufactured goods
• Developing and analyzing cost standards
• Carrying out cost-volume-profit analysis
• Establishing costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.
• Performing account reconciliations
• Preparing audit reports and presenting their findings to management
• Recommending changes to the company's processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit
• Advising executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data
• Monitoring unit cost variance
• Reconciling beginning raw materials, work-in-progress and finished-goods stock
• Planning, Studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor.
• Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
• Making estimates of new and proposed product costs
• Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services
• Assisting in Month end close of the General Ledger

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of Cost Accounting exp
• Must have a strong Cost systems background and have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principals
• Computer Literate - Strong Excel and accounting software skills
• Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards
• Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
