The opportunity

Brand new maternity cover contract - based in Swansea. A lovely friendly place to work - cover for a lady who is going on maternity leave early October. The contract is expected to last at least 12 months - but may well extend by a few months. Ideal start is the end of August or early September.

The business

Working for a successful local business - they have 6 sites - this particular Accountant role looks after the finances for 2 of those sites - the role is 100% based in Swansea. You would share an office with 2 other similar level accountants.

The role

Reports to: Finance Director
Team: Will form part of an accounts team of 8 - FD, Three accountants, Four accounts clerks.
Duties

• Assist in providing mentoring and development of staff to deliver month end thus ensuring deadlines are achieved as well as highlighting any inefficiencies within the current system.
• Prepare monthly management accounts for 2 sites. Reconcile balance sheet accounts as part of month end procedure. Submission of monthly accounts within specified time limits.
• Deal with day to day ad hoc financial queries from the two businesses.
• Prepare, develop and analyse financial information to allow the organisation to make well-informed decisions to ensure future stability, profitability and growth.
• Maintain Excel based reporting systems, identify potential improvements and implement changes as requested.
• Work with the Auditors to verify reported financial results. Provide information to Tax Consultants as required. Provide analysis to enable preparation of annual statutory reports for consolidation with the results of the Group`s operations.
• Preparation of the company annual budgets for the two businesses.
