We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join a busy team that supports the State business operations in SA & NT.

The purpose of the State Accountant position is to effectively manage the day-to-day operations and workflow of the finance and administration team. The position will ensure that appropriate financial practices and procedures are applied to transactions across every business unit in SA & NT.

DUTIES INCLUDE
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly reports, including P&L, Variance report, Operation hours reconciliation
  • Review and prepare all monthly billing batches & manual invoices
  • Process of standard month-end journals, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Prepare accrual journals based on outstanding invoices within the system
  • Prepare timely balance sheet reconciliations for the region
  • Process and review fortnightly invoice batches for ad-hoc service and manual invoice/credit notes.
  • Follow up on outstanding fees and invoices, resolve payment and accounts queries, management of creditors and payables
  • Ensuring debtors ledger is kept up-to-date, ensuring timeliness and a high level of accuracy is maintained
  • Investigate and resolve banking errors and adjustments.
SKILLS & EXPERTISE
  • Completion or current undertaking of CA/CPA studies is preferred.
  • Have experience with a General Ledger accounting and finance system (Microsoft Dynamics 365)
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills (excel, word, PowerBI, and other database experience)
  • Be highly organised with great attention to detail and time management.
