My client is looking for someone with Business Partnering experience and someone who possesses excellent communication skills to liaise with non-financial stakeholders.

Description

To continuously improve our processes and procedures to:

  • Produce monthly management accounts and forecasts that provide insightful information. This includes meeting with non-finance project managers regularly to reforecast projects
  • Drafting quarterly Board reports for Director review and presentation to Board as needed, and providing 'plain-English' verbal and written briefings to the Senior Management Team (SMT) and other key staff on an ongoing basis.
  • Produce timely finance reports to a range of our funders and ensuring we claim funding as it becomes due.
  • Produce key general ledger reconciliations including bank, sales and purchases. Oversee VAT returns, pensions and payroll requirements.
  • Manage cashflow and aged debt. Produce short term 8 week cashflow forecasts on a fortnightly basis and longer term 12 month forecasts on a quarterly basis.
  • Prepare year end statutory accounts to relevant accounting standards and charity SORP requirements. Manage the external audit process.
  • Contribute to delivering our approach to internal audit, ensuring audit points are tracked and implemented. Assist in the production of Audit Committee Papers.
  • Lead and motivate and develop the small finance team and play an active role in the Internal Services team and the wider organisation leadership team.
  • Travel to other offices and other such duties that may be required

Profile

  • Ability to work on own initiative, demonstrating a commercial acumen and strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on the needs of the organisation as a whole
  • Ability to analyse and interpret financial information and to prepare and present concise reports in a thorough and confident manner for SMT, Trustees and others.
  • Proven skill in successfully managing, developing and motivating a small finance team.
  • Ability to produce statutory accounts with knowledge of requirements for Company and Charity law (eg SORP)
  • Knowledge of accounting for pensions, payroll and VAT
  • Knowledge of Microsoft NAV accounting system
