Vaco is growing and always looking for new talent for our clients. Below is a usual description of the duties, responsibilities, and requirements that our clients look for in a contract staff accountant. These roles are typically on-site, last 2-3 months or longer if an extension is requested by the client, occasionally have the potential to convert to permanent, and compensation is normally up to $32 per hour.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with monthly close process for multiple locations
  • Assist with consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.
  • Analyze information and options by developing spreadsheet reports, verifying information.
  • Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files, reconciling balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare payments and accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts.
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
  • Process Payroll, and A/P
  • Reconcile credit cards, Amazon account, and debit cards.
  • Ad hoc reporting

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in accounting
  • 2+ years' experience
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook) Pivot Tables, PowerPoint
  • QuickBooks experience a plus
  • Payroll system experience a plus
  • Detail oriented, organized, with strong analytical problem-solving aptitude
  • Able to work in fast past environment, team player and personable

• Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of experience
• CPA or CPA candidate
• Public accounting experience; Big 4, desired
• Proficient in business related software: Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, etc.
