Robert Half Finance and Accounting are currently looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to join an exciting Professional Services company located in North Bristol. For the right person, the client is offering a very competitive:

Up to £26,000 plus excellent benefits, including a 9 day fortnight & more

Reporting to the Financial Accountant, the Finance Assistant must co-ordinate the inter-company transactions for the group; processing sales and purchase invoices, journals, and bank transactions. The Finance Assistant will also be required to ensure accuracy of individual company general ledgers and prepare all payments. The Finance Assistant will support the Financial Accountant to ensure the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Role responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Co-ordinate with the Financial Accountant and Business Finance team to ensure all transactions and month-end accruals for all companies in the group are accurate
  • Preparation of all monthly bank reconciliations
  • Manage inter-company transactions and debtor and credit control account reconciliations
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT returns for all companies in the group and annual PSA returns
  • Preparation of the monthly sales invoice and monthly and annual Incurred Cost Reports
  • Ensuring sales invoices are recorded accurately
  • Ensuring purchases and payments are appropriately approved by budget holders
  • Preparation of all payments (supplier, employee, government, ad-hoc)
  • Act as first point of contact for all payment queries
  • Assist with external audit/ other external consultant requests

Person specification:

  • Experience of management accounts
  • Experience of VAT returns
  • Good Excel skills
  • Attention to detail with ability to prepare concise summaries of information
  • Ability to work to deadlines and stand back and review own work
  • Ability to work with others, within and outside the finance department
