As the Faculty Finance Manager you will play part in the direct implementation and growth of the Faculty's financial strategy, while identifying and managing potential and future financial risks.

Description

As Faculty Finance Manager, your main duties will include:

  • Provide adequate expertise sound financial advice and expertise to members over the Faculty, while guiding and influencing the operative decision making competently.

  • Work alongside the Head of Faculty Finance to produce adequate financial strategies, making sure this is in line with strategic plan of the faculty.

  • Assist in the successful administration of the faculty's financial strategy, while ensuring potential financial risks are recognised and overseen appropriately.
  • Implement an annual vigorous and continual five year financial plan, supporting essential monitoring of controls and budgets.

  • Present and produce consistent management accounts and additional relative financial data as and when required.
  • Manage the delivery of financial activity, inclusive of; due Diligence, investment and project appraisals, contract reviews and agreements and statutory accounts.

  • Manage the finance team within the faculty, being accountable for development, workload and motivation. In addition to being accountable for the annual staff appraisals and consultations.

  • Effectively guide team members and support their performance and well-being; in line with Faculty HR if necessary.

  • Ensure the financial guidelines, regulations and procedures are adhered to at all times.

  • Support the Faculty Head and cover where necessary, from a local and central standpoint. Build strong relationships with wider professional services and faculties, engaging in meetings to maintain and form a network of key contacts,which will contribute to a mutual exchange of data.

  • Take charge in operating consistent improvements in processes and make sure any relevant changes are successfully administered across the Faculty. These will contribute towards a framework for the role.

Profile

As Faculty Finance Manager, you will have:

  • CCAB (CA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) qualification or be qualified by substantial relevant experience.
  • Demonstrable skills and experience in delivering high quality management accounting through exceptional business partnering.
  • Line management experience with an enthusiastic, committed and proactive approach to managing and developing staff.
  • Experience in managing complex funding and financial regimes and scenarios.
  • The ability to interpret data strategically and influence decision making.
  • Resilience and organisational skills with the proven ability to plan and prioritise work and to deliver in a fast paced demanding environment whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • The ability to analyse and problem solve, providing solutions working within financial rules and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to build credibility and trust with a wide range of people.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
  • High level Skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, in particular excel.
  • Commitment to your own personal professional development.
  • Be immediately available or a short notice period.



Job Offer

This role is a 12 month FTC.

Benefits of the role:

  • Up to £54,000 per annum (you will initially start on a day rate equivalent).
