ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK

I am currently recruiting for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join a leading freight forwarding group and help support it during its next stage of development. This position will be office based in Basildon and reports to Accounts Supervisor.

• Managing portfolio of supplier ledgers for 4 entities
• Daily Reconciliation of supplier ledgers
• Daily and Weekly payment runs to suppliers using online banking
• Assisting in replying to queries and correspondence with suppliers
• Working closely with the operation teams to ensure timely processing of invoices
• Purchase Invoice processing in CargoWise
• Liaison with external auditors on creditor queries
• General admin tasks such as opening the post daily, stationery ordering, filing and some other Ad hoc tasks as requested

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience required:

• Demonstrable experience in an accounts payable environment (essential)
• Fully proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Ability to communicate with suppliers and staff at all levels of the organisation (essential)
• Great attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment
• Organised and able to plan and prioritise
• Freight experience preferred, but not essential
• Cargowise Experience (desirable) otherwise strong financial system experience
