Overview

Due to an internal promotion, we now have an opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join the team in Fleet Finance. We provide vehicles and plant to wider business. Finance Assistant will get involved in all aspects of accounting from invoice processing to monthly management accounts.

There are seven people in the team currently, many of whom started as Finance Assistants and progressed up to more senior roles, but we are part of a much bigger Finance community. We are keen to support and develop someone who has started, or has an interest in, CIMA (or ACCA) Accounting qualifications and we will offer full study support. This role would suit a recent graduate, or a self-starter already studying towards CIMA

As our Finance Assistant, you will be involved in all of the monthly finance processes including preparing finance packs and monthly reports.

This role is based in Milton Park, Oxford on a hybrid working basis with 1-2 days spent in the office after training. It is likely that you will need to be office based for the first few months. 

What will this role involve?

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Balance sheet reconciliations 
• Assisting with budgeting and re-forecasting
• Reconciliation of supplier statements
• Resolution of invoice and vendor queries (WIA)
• Ensuring accurate and timely cost allocation with relevant profit centres
• Preparation of accruals, prepayments, and month end journals
• Assisting with the preparation of year end audit requirements
• Financial Analysis

What are we looking for?

• Progress towards either CIMA or ACCA Accounting qualification
• Strong IT skills
• Ability to take ownership of a task and see it through to completion
• Ability to think ahead, plan work and meet deadlines
• Accuracy and attention to detail
