The Role
This is 12-month fixed term position (maternity cover) which sits within the core finance team and reports directly to the Finance Manager. Interviews will be taking place from early October onwards. Worth noting that this position can be either full time OR part time depending on the applicant's circumstances. You can work 3, 4 or 5 days depending on your preference and circumstances.
You will support the wider accounting team and focus predominantly on the following responsibilities

- Support Finance Manager with end of month close and reporting
- Fixed asset register maintenance
- Processing accounts payable including weekly payment runs and supplier queries
- Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Suggesting areas for process improvement
- Documentation of processes and procedures
- Depreciation journals
- Ad hoc support with internal reporting

- Prior experience as an Assistant Accountant or Finance Officer
- Happy and comfortable to have accounts payable as part of your position
- Excellent attitude and work ethic
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to read and understand p&l and balance sheet information
- Comfortable commuting to CBD at least 1-2 days a week
- Able to use excel spreadsheets and v lookups
