The Eastern Busway is a significant project for Auckland and forms a key part of the region's rapid transport network. Similar to the Northern Busway, it will create separate lanes for new high-frequency bus services to connect people from Botany, Pakuranga and the surrounding suburbs with the rail network in Panmure.
The project includes cycling and walking paths, safety, environment and roading improvements, and a Reeves Road flyover, giving people a range of travel options and more reliable journey times.
As the Project Accountant for this exciting project your role will be to deliver general financial and administration support to key internal and external stakeholders in an accurate, timely and efficient manner.
Some of the key objectives for this role will be:
  • Assist with the setting up and maintenance of the site-based stand-alone accounts and costing system and its master files
  • Assist the finance team with the development and implementation of process, policy and system improvements in relation to the Accounts Payable area.
  • Assist Commercial Manager in the preparation of the cash flow, Project P&L, profit recognition,.
  • Conduct the analysis of financial accounts to make adjustments as appropriate and ensure reliability and correct registration of financial information in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted standards and procedure.
  • Undertake regular updating and reconciliation of key general ledger ·accounts and manage the supplier statements of accounts
  • Supervise and liaise with site based project teams to ensure timely and complete processing of new supplier and employee accounts set up.
  • Assist with preparation of all statutory reporting
  • Assist with processing of incoming creditor invoices and Subcontractor claims including Subcontractor management within financial system
