Our Customer Engagement Centre is an exciting place to be - we're reshaping our ways of working to better enable first contact resolution for our customers and development pathways for our people. The Engagement Centre is at the HEART of this movement.

As we have shifted into new ways of working, we're looking for an inspiring leader to join us in a permanent capacity.

The Role

As a Team Leader, you'll provide leadership, coaching and development to a team of Business Insurance Consultants to drive customer, risk, and financial performance of the team.

You'll be working with a diverse group of people so being able to build relationships, collaborate and understand other's strengths and weaknesses is critical to the success of our centre. We are looking to enhance our teams ability to engage with customers and people by adding someone who is fluent in both spoken and written Mandarin to our leadership team.

Key responsibilities

  • Creating a culture within the team where diversity is celebrated, people are proud and confident, risks are raised, and people enjoy coming to work.
  • Providing leadership, development, coaching and holding team members accountable.
  • Addresses poor performance within the team to drive high performance on customer, risk, and financial metrics.
  • Setting and agreeing individual goals and objectives with their team which clearly link to the strategic direction of the wider IAG business.
  • Working with members of the team to help them develop and grow along a career pathway and embed Customise.
  • Driving a customer focus culture within the team, through a needs-based customer approach by listening to calls, running huddles, sitting side by side with their team.


About You

  • Good communication skills and fluent in both written/ oral Mandarin and English
  • Proven experience leading a team (including leading remotely) and strong communication skills which will enable you to get people on board to successfully build and manage relationships.
  • Ability to provide action-oriented leadership and direction to staff
  • Ability to motivate and develop staff to foster a constructive 'can do' & customer focused culture
  • Exceptional coaching skills and a track record of achieving great customer outcomes and key business objectives.
  • Ability to see the bigger picture, communicate the vision and strategy to the team and guide them through new processes.
  • High level of agility to respond effectively to rapidly developing situations.
