Job Details

A permanent, part- time Accounts and Finance Officer role based in Wilmslow, Cheshire offering 16 hours per week.

Client Details

Our client is a registered charity that has been in operation since the 1920's who continue to strive to enrich the lives of their local community through education, social inclusion and health and well-being programmes. They work closely with the Local Council to improve the health, fitness and well being of individuals, by also providing access to over 500 academic courses each year.

Description

The key responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to;

· Complete accruals, pre-payments and journals for the monthly management accounts.

· Prepare ad-hoc financial reports for month-end management accounts and provide information to the Principal and Honorary Treasurer.

· Prepare financial documents such as invoice schedules, ad-hoc invoices and provide advice and assistance to accounts payable and receivable.

· Completing purchase and sales invoices, importing and inputting on Sage.

· Enter financial information onto Sage.

· Assist with and co-ordinate documents and information for internal and external audits.

· Verify and reconcile balances in Sage and rectify discrepancies.

· Provide the Principal and Honorary Treasurer with ad-hoc financial reports as requested.

· Knowledge and preparation of fixed asset registers and depreciation.

· Completion of bank reconciliations.

· Review reports for accuracy and meticulously trace errors back to source.

· Resolve errors in financial reports and correct faulty reporting methods.

· Develop and maintain computerised and manual filing and record keeping systems.

· Assist in the maintenance of returns to the Charity Commission and Companies House.

· Provide telephone cover for finance enquiries as required.

· Support and promote financial policies and procedures.

· Ensure that data collection and processing is compliant with GDPR guidelines.

· Identify training needs as necessary and be committed to continuous professional development.

· Undertake any other duties as commensurate with the role and as directed by the Principal and Honorary Treasurer.

Profile

The successful candidate must possess;

  • Availability to commit to 16 hours per week of work, flexibility is available on the spread of hours/ days to suit;
  • AAT Level 4.
  • Sage Accounts experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounting environment.
  • Experience of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Strong Excel and Word skills.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
