Company and Overview:
  • Our repeat client is in the construction industry in North Harford County area. They have been in business for over 50 years
  • Due to an increase in workload, they are looking to bring on an Accounting Assistant to join their large accounting team on a contractual basis. For the right candidate, this position will become a permanent role.
  • Company boasts low turnover!
  • Schedule: 100% in office in Aberdeen, MD. 9am-5pm Monday-Friday but can be slightly flexible if needed
  • Reports to the Controller

Duties Include:
  • Assist with weekly payroll processing and reconciliations
  • Accounts Receivable duties: billing and cash receipt posting
  • Accounts Payable duties: invoice posting and processing check runs
  • File permits as needed
  • Process journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts monthly
  • Maintain fixed asset records
  • Cover receptionist & phones as needed
  • Perform data entry as needed

Qualifications for the Accounting Assistant:
  • 1+ years' accounting experience
  • Experience using ADP a plus
  • Proficient Excel skills- must be proficient with pivot tables and vlookup
  • Quick learner and ability to pick things up quickly
  • Easy going and works well with a variety of personalities
